Keynote Speaker & TMS Client

Paul Vaughn 

Paul Vaughn is a Christian father of 11 and pro-life advocate. Paul has been involved in the pro-life movement for over 30 years. More recently, Paul leads Personhood TN, which includes an active sidewalk counseling ministry in Nashville, TN. In October 2022, Paul was indicted by the DOJ for allegedly violating the FACE Act and engaging in a "Conspiracy Against Rights." He faced up to 11 years in federal prison for his peaceful presence at a pro-life event where he broke no law. Paul was convicted and sentenced to 6 months of house arrest and 3 years of supervised release. On January 23, 2025, President Trump pardoned Paul and 22 other pro-lifers who had endured persecution at the hands of the Biden administration.

Governor of Nebraska & Defender of Life Awardee

Governor Jim Pillen

Governor Jim Pillen was sworn in as Nebraska’s 41st Governor on January 5, 2023. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science from UNL, then a doctor of veterinary medicine from Kansas State. Pillen campaigned against abortion in the 2022 gubernatorial election, winning the vote. He has served on the University of Nebraska Board of Regents and chairs Pillen Family Farms. Jim and wife, Suzanne, have four children and seven grandchildren.

Steve Crampton

With decades of experience litigating cases from state supreme courts to the U.S. Supreme Court, Steve is a passionate advocate for civil liberties. He previously served as Chief Counsel for the American Family Association’s Center for Law & Policy and Vice President for Legal Affairs and General Counsel for Liberty Counsel, where he championed religious freedom and traditional values. Known for his compelling courtroom presence, he has advised state and federal legislators, including U.S. Congressmen, on crafting and defending influential legislation. With Thomas More Society, Steve has focused on defending pro-life advocates unjustly prosecuted with federal FACE Act and "Conspiracy Against Rights" charges, including Paul Vaughn.

Emcee & TMS Board Member

Ed Morse

Ed Morse serves on the Board of Thomas More Society. He earned his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School and went on to serve as a law clerk for Honorable Deanell R. Tacha of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit. Ed has extensive experience in private practice and has been a professor of law at the Creighton University School of Law since 1994. He is also a Certified Public Accountant and has authored numerous articles on taxation, technology, and regulation.
